Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Radio 4YOU Chrome extension and Telegram Mini App collect, use, store, and share information when you listen to the station or use its community features.
1. Scope and operator
This policy applies to the Radio 4YOU Chrome extension, the Radio 4YOU Telegram Mini App, and the Radio 4YOU services at 4you.fm that these apps use. In this policy, “Radio 4YOU,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of Radio 4YOU.
2. Information we process
Information you provide
- Nickname, chat messages, replies, and reactions when you use the live chat.
- Name, recipient, dedication, and comment when you request a track.
- Name, artist/title text, music link, and comment when you suggest new music.
Telegram account information
When you open the Mini App inside Telegram, Telegram provides signed launch data that may include your numeric Telegram user ID, first and last name, username, interface language, and profile photo URL. We validate this signature on our server. We use the verified ID to authenticate actions, prevent duplicate votes and abuse, and enable the owner-only control panel. Your display name may be stored with a chat message or music suggestion that you intentionally submit. We do not store the raw signed launch payload.
Approximate location and technical information
When the extension connects to our servers, the request necessarily includes technical information such as an IP address, user agent, request time, and requested endpoint. We may derive an approximate country from the IP address to display listener statistics and country flags, operate the service, prevent abuse, and maintain security. The extension does not request precise GPS location.
Interactions with Radio 4YOU
We process actions that you intentionally perform, including track votes, track-duel selections, chat reactions, track requests, music suggestions, preview requests, and “Catch the Moment” creation requests. These actions are used only to provide the corresponding feature, maintain the radio queue, calculate community results, and prevent abuse.
Settings stored locally in Chrome
The extension uses chrome.storage.local to remember
volume, stream quality, equalizer settings, selected language,
nickname, active section, and related interface preferences. These
settings remain on your device unless you submit the nickname through
a community feature. You can remove them by clearing the extension’s
data or uninstalling the extension.
3. Information we do not collect
The extension does not collect or request:
- browsing history or a list of websites you visit;
- content from websites or browser tabs;
- passwords, authentication credentials, or authentication cookies;
- financial, payment, credit, or health information;
- precise GPS location;
- data for personalized advertising or creditworthiness decisions.
4. How we use information
- Provide live audio, track metadata, previews, and playback controls.
- Publish and moderate live-chat messages and reactions.
- Process track requests and music suggestions.
- Calculate votes, ratings, and track-duel results.
- Show aggregate listener counts and approximate countries.
- Create user-requested “Catch the Moment” clips.
- Protect the service from spam, fraud, abuse, and technical failures.
- Maintain, debug, and improve the extension’s core functionality.
5. Public and shared information
Chat nicknames, messages, replies, reactions, timestamps, and approximate country flags may be visible to other Radio 4YOU listeners. A track dedication or request may be presented as part of the radio service. Do not submit information that you do not want others to see.
Music suggestions and their associated name, link, and comment may be reviewed by Radio 4YOU editors and moderators for the purpose of evaluating the suggestion. Community content may also be reviewed when needed to prevent abuse, provide support, or comply with law.
6. Service providers and data transfers
The apps communicate with the following services only as needed to provide their disclosed features:
- Radio 4YOU / 4you.fm — radio metadata, history, ratings, duels, chat, listener statistics, requests, suggestions, previews, and clips.
- MyRadio24 — live audio streams, broadcast status, metadata, and the track-request service.
- Telegram — signed Mini App authentication, interface integration, and bot features. Telegram supplies the account fields described above when you choose to open the Mini App.
- Apple Music and Deezer media delivery networks — licensed 30-second previews requested by the user.
- Hosting and network infrastructure providers — delivery, security, logging, backups, and operation of 4you.fm.
These services may receive technical connection information such as IP address and user agent when your browser contacts them. Their own privacy terms may apply to their processing. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets subject to appropriate safeguards.
7. Retention
Local extension settings remain in Chrome until you clear the extension’s data or uninstall it. Server-side messages, requests, suggestions, votes, interaction records, and technical logs are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the relevant feature, moderate content, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, maintain backups, and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may vary according to the data type and operational need.
8. Security
The extension transmits data over encrypted HTTPS connections. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
You can use the radio player without posting chat messages, track requests, or music suggestions. You can clear locally stored settings through Chrome or by uninstalling the extension. You can stop using the Mini App at any time by closing it in Telegram.
To request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with content you submitted, contact us using the email below. We may need enough information to identify the relevant record and verify that the request is legitimate. Applicable privacy laws may provide additional rights depending on your location.
10. Children’s privacy
Radio 4YOU is not directed to children below the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. A parent or guardian may contact us if they believe a child submitted personal information.
11. Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure
Radio 4YOU’s use and transfer of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not sell user data. We do not use or transfer user data for personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to the extension’s disclosed user-facing features.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the extension, our data practices, or legal requirements change. The current version will remain available at this URL, and the effective date at the top will be updated. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
